Usage Advice
Description
The story is in the “I-like-learning Chinese Reading Series”. It is based on a story originally written in Spanish by Mr. Blaine Ray, creator of the teaching method of TPRS—Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Story-telling. Widely used in USA, TPRS helps students learn vocabulary and develop communication skills through interesting stories and simulated real-life situations. This book tells a story about two American middle school students who had to stay in San Juan because they missed the yacht while travelling to Puerto Rico. The book consists of a total of 10 chapters, each of which is followed by several questions (in English) to check students’ understanding of the story. A glossary is attached at the end of the book. This book is designed for upper grade elementary, middle and high school students who have received approximately 150~200 hours of Chinese language instruction and want to continue their Chinese language studies.
